Tri-Sodium Citrate 9:1

Usage: Coagulation Sodium Citrate tube is also known as coagulation tube or PT tube. The buffered tri-sodium citrate solution contained in the tube interferes with calcium and thus blocks the coagulation cascade. This tube is used primarily in coagulation tests. The concentration of sodium citrate is 0.109mol/L (3.2%).

The blood to additive ratio is 9 parts blood to 1 parts additive. Invert tube gently for 3-4 times immediately after blood drawing. The test is recommended to be completed within 24 hours after blood collection.

Limitations: These tubes are not suitable for a special population with Hematocrit (HCT) <25% or >55%. For people with HCT> 55%, please adjust the volume of blood draw according to the following formula: Anticoagulant(mL) =[100-HCT(%)] x Blood Volume(mL)×0.00185
